I am talking about the two tunnels on the bottom of the fuselage where the
two exhaust pipes exit. I think the stainless steel replaces the quilted heat
shield material. It looks a lot better and gives a more finished look.

What do you mean by exhaust pockets? Are you talking about the tunnel
between the fuselage and the exhaust pipe?
