Chris Zavatson asked for more details of my hydraulic pump problem.

Yes, it makes no difference if the gear is selected up or down.  If I switch
the electrical supply through the relays on and off, the relays click, and
sometimes the pump starts and runs briefly, but 3/4 of the time nothing
happens except the wires get hot.  I am pretty sure that it is a pump
problem.  Before I bought the kit, it had been stored for about 5 years.
Since the relays were both inoperative, I suspect that they had been stored
in inadequate conditions.

I am going to take Lorn's advice and send it back to Oildyne for servicing.
I think it is money and time well spent!  Thank you both for the help.

Jerry

Is the pump intermittent in both directions?  Have you tried adjusting
the pressure switches?  What was the effect?  Do you know the pressures
in the system while this is occurring?
