OK, OK - I suspended preparations for our Christmas Celebration and went for a flight.

See Email to MoonDog Re Data Recording Protocol.

1. Lancair 320, IO 320, 9:1 Pistons, Unfiltered Ram air, LASAR Ignition, Pitot fed shrouded injectors, S-Tec 50 AP, RMI Air Data, VM EPI 800 Engine data, Garmin 530, Dual Static ports and Calibrated airspeed, MAP sensor not calibrated.  Gross Wt was about 1675, CG 25.4

2. OAT -3C, Dew Pt -12C, Baro 29.86", MAP 29.1

3. a. 12500 MSL, Palt 12540, Dalt 12630, AP alt hold engaged thru all measurements, 2500 RPM used and 100* ROP (for Me, approx 1320 EGT used thoughout + or - 100*F .

WOT, 19.7" MAP, 7.3 gph, 157 IAS, -5C OAT, 189 TAS, -9C TAT

          18.7 " MAP, 6.9 gph, 154 IAS, -6C OAT, 186 TAS, -10C TAT

3 KTS lost  Also, note that I did not change the mixture in these MAP tests.  I was heading West and all work was done in smooth air.

3. b. I then spiraled down to 9500 and headed East letting things stabilize.  So, at 9500 MSL, 9560 Palt, 9320 Dalt, then as in 3.a.

WOT, 22.1" MAP, 8.5 gph, 170 IAS, -3C OAT, 195 TAS, -6C TAT and 250 Knot Ground Speed

         21.1" MAP, 8.0 gph, 165 IAS, -3C OAT, 188 TAS, -6C TAT

then, I had to turn South as I was going to enter ORD airspace, jammed the throttle in and took another reading

WOT, 22.1" MAP, 169 IAS, 193 TAS

~ 5 Kts lost.

Also, note that the WOT MAP increased by 2.4" with a drop in 3000 altitude.  This is consistent with the standard atmosphere pressure change from 12,500 to 9,500 (18.66-->20.98), 2.32" Hg.  BTW, the Baro and temps at altitude were very close to standard.
