Hysol is fuel-proof. Its squeeze-out bonding over the sealer protects the seams from leaking. Make sure you do the same when you close up the hole. Some wet lay-up builders (Cozy, etc) use straight epoxy (saf-t-poxy, jeffco, etc) as a sealer, but it can be difficult to get all the pin-holes and the epoxy is fairly brittle by itself.
