Probably not possible to
recover this, but I'll ask. My friend sent the pump back to his engine rebuilder
in exchange for a new one. All handled "in warranty" so no cost to him but
the trouble; still I thought it interesting that a number of folks are finding
similar problems.

Bad manufacture and or rebuild is always a
possibility. Compare serial numbers and rebuilder and date. I will
check the one I changed and post the number.

fuel problem with his IO 360 in an RV-8. New pump on a rebuilt engine. It
had supposedly been test run before shipping. One of the internal check
valves was deformed when pressed into the pump body when the pump was
manufactured. No way it could work properly. Do you suppose there's a batch
of bad ones out there?
