Thanks
Ian, that is good to hear. After the catastrophe at Stoddard-Hamilton
(Glasair/GlaStar) I was concerned about starting a new kit plane. From
what you said perhaps I should rest easy with my ES-P
project.
Robert, Et Al,
I have had a relationship with Lancair since February, 1989 (they were
still in Santa Clara, CA) and I have never had a support problem even though the
cast of characters has changed somewhat (except maybe for Vern who seems to have
been around since Mt St Helens first discharge). I try to buy my
continuing support parts from them (tires, epoxy, glass, tools, etc) 'cause it's
a mutual two-way street.
As a matter of fact, it is Lancair's continual introduction of new products
that keeps them in business. After all, the Legacy was introduced after
all us short and skinny (well, I used to be thinner) folk had bought up the
2-seat 235/320/360's until there were no "medium" sized aviators left to
pruchase such a wee personal airplane. The IV's were introduced because
some people just don't like to slog thru the weather. ES's, 'cause some
fliers were actually raising a family and needed more than 2 seats. Etc,
Etc............
Lance just couldn't leave well enough alone...
