As a matter of common sense when I want to know
anything about Lancairs and my 360 in particular I make it a point to ask the
company as well as the list. I have never found that I was shrugged off by
the company and the help I have received has always been either experience or
knowledge based. These requests extend over some eight years and
cover a number of Lancair people some of whom have moved on.
For spare parts a quick call to Vern or an E mail
always gets you a reply. Vern is also a hydraulic specialist in some
branch of the US militiary and has helped me when I have had problems with my
nose strut.
Tim Ong also has lots of experience and usually has
an answer for you when you need it.
The list is a superb source of information with a
lot of very experienced people contributing to it in a very positive manner.
However I have never felt the need to use the list as a pulpit to chastise
Lancair and I feel we do the company no favours by condemning them before we
have sought their advice or information from them. We also tie up the time
when the Lancair folks could be answering our queries instead of having to
defend their company. That said I would be the first to be in touch with
Lancair if I felt that their service could be improved in some
area.
Just a plea for fair play that is all!
