That wasn't my posting but I might argue the point you made that I agree with in that it stated the acetone"evaporated away leaving everyting behind". Well, if allowed to evaporate, that is correct but as you said, wiping quickly and several times until it was wiping away clean was a pretty good indication of getting it all. And MEK is a lot slower solvent if you wanted less volitility. But once the surface is very clean so that it didn't smear contaminates and then ground to a fresh clean surface, it would probably be a pretty good bond anyway, even if you just vacuumed it. Hell, I've done a lot less prep on many repairs I've done so I don't get bent out of shape if the prep is carefully sanded and cleaned even if that isn't lab grade chemicals and lab wipes.
I never did use the Klix or Dupont solvents, I'll defer to your knowledge on that.
