<<This is a little off subject but since there appears to be some experts
out there, what can someone suggest for epoxy for ABS plastic on a
motorcycle fairing?
Greg T>>
For ABS repairs I've successfully used basically the same Jeffco and the
same process as for the Lancair. I clean the part first with soap and water
or a degreaser, sand with 35 or 80 grit and then very lightly wipe with
acetone as it does seem to attack the ABS. I've laminated BID tape over
fractures and so far none have failed, including some that have been fairly
highly stressed. This included ABS for motorcycle fairings and Cessna trim
parts. It was okay for a nylon (I think) automotive air filter housing, but
I wouldn't recommend automotive underhood use except for a last-ditch effort
(no replacement part available).
