I have a question regarding LOP ant CHT in my TSIO 550 B, particularly when
it's cold outside. For example, yesterday I was over northern Michigan, OAT
-24 C, and running LOP the CHT were in the range of 290 to 305, with the
IAS of 210. It was cold with even the oil door shut the temps were in the
170 range.
Is is safe to run the CHT that cool? Running ROP did warm them up about 10
to 15. Normal cruise CHT in the summer is about 360 or so, so I don't want
to rework a lot, and what about winter baffles?
