I'm the guy who had a nose leg collapse on first flight take-off because of
nose wheel shimmy. As already stated - don't accept any shimmy at all.
There have been so many Service bulletins on the 320/360 nose leg that I
recommend you send it back to Vern Pifer for the factory to overhaul it and
bring it
up to the latest standard (this includes a centering device). Once it has
been overhauled you will know it is in the latest configuration and can
carry
out routine maintenance without worry.
Incidentally, the UK authorities would not allow the small tail here so I
had to install the big one like it or not! I'm glad I did, the airplane
flies
great and it is almost impossible to load it out of balance.
