Hi Scotty

I'm not flying yet but looked into this alot as I own a 320 small tail kit. I too didn't want to buy the larger tail but as I was at the point of installing it I went ahaed and bought it.

BUT check your CG carefully and make sure your datums is correct, when comparing to the factory specs. Look behind the hat shelve you will find a bob weight there already (part of original design) then check the elevator control arm in the tail. There was a recomedation to drill additional holes in this arm to effectivly shorten it stroke. If there is only the one holding the bold then that would be your most likly solution.

There's a CD availible with back issues of the Lancair Network News (LNN) where you'll find heaps of good or not so good advise.

From all the info I collected it appears that the small tail is not as bad as some make it to be, but its a CG thing, Check your CG !!! Lancair later made availible a longer engine mount to enable, amone others, to move the CG forward.

If you don't get joy I can forward you all the info I have on it.

Good luck
