I have little experience cleaning Aluminum planes.  Let me share my results
on the Lancair as I tested numerous products-most from WalMart.  Don't use
Miracle Green on aluminum-it is harmful to aluminum and it does not clean that
well anyway from my testing.

I use spray wax to do the cleaning.  This is the primary cleaner used
regularly.

I use GoJo Crème without pumice to clean the stubborn exhaust and heavy
stains.

I use a plexiglass cleaner for the windows with a clean rag each time.

I use Turtle Wax bug and tar remover wipes for a quick removal of bugs on the
leading edges.  (5 knots loss on a Lancair at cruise with bugs)

I would cautiously try an automotive cleaner for the oxidation.  It is so
easy to remove all the paint if it is heavily oxidized.

Note, I never wash the plane.

Removing wasp nests.  At home we use oven cleaner to kill the wasps.  I have
not a clue what that does to an airplane.  I would try it on aluminum first
before using it on the plane.
