I've only had one engine failure, so my experience is limited, but my engine may have been windmilling enough to give me adequate oil pressure to control a constant speed prop. I don't have a constant speed prop and at the moment the oil pressure was the last thing on my mind.

My engine didn't stop windmilling until I slowed past 80 KIAS for the final phase of my pattern (a very thankfully, uneventful landing on the runway. I'm pretty certain that I used 95 KIAS until I slowed for the landing.

Lancair 320 with 160HP, first flight -- more grey hair.
