Just a general survey--is it "normal" to have continuous problems with
the Lancair 320 or does it ever get to a stage of trouble free
flying.
My aircraft seems to develop a new "problem" on every second
flight.
Am getting a little frustrated so needed to vent a
little!
The aircraft is now 10 years old (1000 hours) and a lot of
the instruments and guages are ex C172 or other aircraft--am sure this
doesn't help!
I had terrible trouble with the flaps sticking
either up or down and replaced the magnetic switches only to eventually
discover that "bushes" needed fitting to the actuation mechanism to prevent
a twisting moment when under airload--the problem could only be
reproduced on the ground by "simulating" an airload by manual pressure
during extension. I believe they must have been left off when the upgrade to
the outback gear was performed.
Also is it possible to verify the
integrity of the main spars..I presume a boroscope would be
required?
