G'day Gerard!

Greetings from San Diego, California...

I have a Lancair-235 with Lycoming 150 HP and fixed-pitch propeller.  Just now coming up on the 1,100 hour mark after 6 1/2 years of operation.

Because of the fixed-pitch prop I am unable to get much manifold pressure.  Most times it's around 21 to 22" MP.  Static RPM is about 2250 RPM.  Usually I run at 2500-2600 RPM down below 5,000' and get around 175-180 KTAS (though I can get over 200 KIAS at SL with 3000 RPM - which I only did a couple of times early in my flight testing program).  Above 5,000' I run it at 2600-2700 RPM and get around 180-185 KTAS up to 8,000',  Above 8000' I run at 2700-2800 RPM and get around 180-185 KTAS.  Am still able to get over 180 at 10,000' and 175 KTAS at 12,000' with full-throttle...

With regard to hydraulic pump cycling:  Mine cycles a couple of times per hour.  I have the Lancair pitot switch in my gear circuit which works flawlessly, but use a significantly better emergency gear valve than that which came with the kit.  The original valve pooped out immediately -- as it was rated for 250 PSI as I recall.  The valve I have is rated for 2,000 PSI, which I got from the Granger catalog.

Best regards!
