I picked up two PSRU's from Firewall Forward last week.  They are designated
the CamDrive 500 and are designed for engines up to 500 HP with a reduction
ratio of approximately 2.1:1.  These units were fabricated for a couple of
Lancair IVP's with an offset of 6+ inches.  The offset can be up to 9
inches.  They are beautiful pieces of machinery and there is a track record
with these that is limited but favorable.  To my knowledge there are about
10 or so delivered and several are flying.  One is on an engine test bed and
has about 150 hours on it.  At least one has approaching 50 flying hours.
There have been three prop strikes with these units.  Two with collapsed
gear and one from a runaway plane that ran into some parked aircraft.  In
all three cases, the PRSU's were undamaged and only required breakdown,
examination and reassembly.  Two of the incidences were on the same
aircraft, same PSRU.

The folks who build this unit have asked me to spread the word that this
business is for sale.  The two principals of the company are elderly and
want to see their product passed on to someone who will carry on the
business.
