<<I am building a fast-built ES and have the wings installed. When I checked
the wing incidence I found the left 0.2 deg. greater than the right.
Does any one know what is acceptable? I can see no way to change since this
came from the factory like this.
Can anyone expand on this idea??>>
I certainly hope it isn't too bad as mine are worse. I bought the
fast-build with the wing mating option and I ended up a little bit worse.
There is about 0.2 to 0.3 difference at the root with the right wing at a
lower angle of incidence than the left. The right wing also has more twist
and at the tip the right wing is 0.6 degrees different from the left. And
this was after I mounted the front spar attachment to use up all the play
available in the main spar bolts. In theory, this could be corrected by
setting the flap adjustment 0.3 inches different from right to left.
Aileron deflection would have to be about the same, 0.15 up on one side and
0.15 down on the other. I've seen one where the builder took out some of
the effect by "warping" the wingtips. I have no idea if the difference I
measure is going to be a big deal or a little deal. I'll bet it won't go
undetected.
