AEA antennas can be placed in the airframe. I put all my antennas inside -- xpdr, comm1/2 and have had no problems with reception or interference. If you are currently building you can palce them in he vertical on the IVP. GPS antenna are under the glareshield and the NAV antenna will be on the trim ring aaround the windshield. Here is a picture of the installation.
