I guess like everybody else, I have no direct comparison between tapes and no
tapes - I have them wrapped from the beginning. But they have been higher than
the values usually quoted in manual/book/press articles. I had assumed it was
just a poorly calibrated sensor/gauge combination (Westach) or maybe the probe
positioned a little too close to the cyl. head, but they do show higher than
1400 usually. If you get a consistent tendency from other replies, maybe I will make a direct
comparison by unwrapping (in private, of course!)
