Since the Turbine Engine Monitoring issue has come up, there
are basically four options available (now) with the exception of the nasty
gauges that are available from Walter, and one other new option
currently being worked on. One is Electronics International. There
gauges are easy to work with and very accurate. Not too expensive
either. Many Turbines are flying with the EI suite, including Ag planes w/
Walter Turbine. Lancair factory IV-P Propjet has these gauges in it.
We sell these for the 601D or 601E model purchased from
Lancair.
Second, Chelton Flight Systems comes with Engine / Airdata
unit that monitors the Turbine. Lancair factory Sentry Tandem Turbine has
that system installed and works very well.
Third is Horizon Aerospce. Good looking analog style
gauges, but WAY too expensive. As in the $12K range!!
Fourth, I believe Gary at Aerotronics is providing the Moritz
gauges. We don't have any hands on experience with their stuff yet.
If you want to know more about the Moritz gauges, you might give him a call at
Aerotronics.
The newest option that is currently being worked on is
two-fold: JP Instruments is working with us on a Turbine version of the
new EDM-900. In addition, we will have an interface module that will take
the information from the new JPI unit and feed it to the new Avidyne Entegra
EFIS (on the EX-5000). If you would like to see what that looks like,
email me directly at kirkh@lancair-kits.com
Hope everyone had a great New Year!
