I have tried a lot of different seals without success, sooner or later they
all have come loose in the forward lower corners of my forward hinged
canopy.
But our fellow Lancair builder from Germany Reiner Ressel has given me a new
approach to the problem with a seal that should withstand movements in down
and forward direction at the same time. He uses Silicone tubing which he
glues into the rounded grove or depression in the aft forward deck and the
roll over structure of the fuselage with a Silicone adhesive.
He has sent me two different sizes app. 1/4" and 5/16" for a test, and I am
going to try it out as soon as possible.
Sounds like a very good solution.
