Regarding Eric Ahlstrom's post, I think every thing you mentioned would be a
"good thing" judging from the history of heavier-than-air-flight.
Since 1903, we have continued to strive for more useability, safety,
etc.,etc., in aircraft (engines, avionics, materials and so on) - much of it
at the expense of "a fundamental principle of good airmanship", e.g.,
lettin' 'em screw up at will.
I vote for an automatic ball-centering device, particularly at the stall.
Even though I practice stall recovery, keeping a constant heading and
glueing the ball in the center is like chewing gum and yodeling at the same
time (for me, anyway).
