Folks using urethane based paints are having good results.  Urethane I'm
told does not dry to a brittle hardness and retains some flexability even
after years of sunlight and ozone exposure.   I used the PPG Deltron base
coat clear coat system.  I would use it again.  It's the same paint most
body shops are using and works good on composites and is easily repairable.
If your painter is using a specific system I would not try to get him to
use something new to him on your aircraft.  He likes his system because he
is experienced with the system, has had good luck with it and is set up to
handle the product.  If you don't like the product he is using find another
painter.
