Apparently Charlie  Kohler had a complete failure of his Continental
TSIO550, possibly due to a broken crankshaft, necessitating an emergency
landing several days ago.  Fortunately, Charlie was at 4000 feet and able to
make a nearby field for a landing.  Charlie's nose gear collapsed with
resultant damage to his MT prop.  No other major damage.  Having been in the
same position last July, my hat is off to Charlie for keeping it together
and getting the plane on the ground with no harm to he or Bryant Cervens.
