Walter,
At Dave Morss's suggestion, I installed a red, momentary cotact switch just
below the gear lever. In the unlikely event that you wanted to retract the
gear on takeoff and were not yet at the speed where the "squat" switch has
energized the lockout solenoid, one can hit the switch and pull the gear
lever up.
As it happens, this is a also a convenient switch to use for gear retraction
tests. 12Volts from any convenient location is connected to the switch which
then can energize the solenoid
