The canopy latch handle can be twisted and bent to conform to the fuselage
profile.  That is what I did.  Also you can recess the mounted fitting
portion of the handle mechanism into the fuselage.  There is about a 3/16 in
recess on the front of the fitting and flush at the rear.  This careful
setting of the mechanism only required about 1/8 inch of micro below the
handle and tapered to the fuselage side over a four inch drop.  The final
result is a very smooth flush mounted handle conformed to the perceptable
original fuselage profile.

You can bend the handle with it clamped with wood wrapped with cloth in a
vise and use pliers or vise grips treated the same way to  prevent scaring
the chrome.
I also recessed the locking mechanism so the face is also flush against the
fuselage.

I have also seen the handle sticking out from the fuselage facing in its
original shape.  Easier to install but I prefered the extra pizazz.

I'm getting ready to install the 320/360 canopy latch (single-handle, dual
latch). Has anyone got anything to add to the installation instructions or
other helpful hints....Bill,

.......When
I fitted the canopy latch it quickly became apparent that the outside
handle sticks out so far as to be unsightly.  I therefore had a new part
machined at the correct angle so that the handle lay parallel to the
fuselage side.  The kit comes with a handle which is at right angles to
the
torque tube which carries the dual claw latches and overcenter link
spring.  I would not recommend fitting it this way because you end up with
a 2" lump of filler material sticking out of the fuselage.  I can send
photos of the modified part if it would be helpful.
