I don't think it was Dave's intent to say that this proposal would exclude low time pilots -- far from it. The intent is to be an "all inclusive" Lancair Owners Assoc. --a force to bargain for good insurance rates for our group. That said, each and every person will still have to purchase insurance individually from whatever company we may go with based on many factors including type aircraft, hull value, pilot certificate and ratings held, total hours, hours in make and model, annual recurrent training, etc. That's the way insurance is written and there is nothing we can do about  that. Same for auto, health and life insurance. What we are trying to do is provide training and aircraft inspection services for our fleet much like the American Bonanza Society or Mooney Pilot's Assoc. does.  Annual recurrent training goes a long way in the insurance companies books. But it won't take the place of having lot's of flight hours. Recurrent training compliments experience, it doesn't replace it.
