The factory racer had on wings and it was indicated that it slowed a/c "a few knots" but I expect that with anything on any LE. It does not have metal strips. It is foil in Teflon and can be used on prop for de-ice, therefore I really doubt that any speed short of XR-71 would cause it to depart unless there was a bonding problem. It has been tested on certified a/c. I believe manufacter tested on Baron. It pulses on/off and is safe for composites.
