Gentlemen:

EPI, Inc. has just purchased a new (big) lathe for a new project, and therefore, we are offering our previous lathe for sale. It is a 12x36 lathe with a gear-drive, tapered roller bearing headstock, with 18-speeds (60-1550 RPM), a Camlock D1-4 spindle, 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, faceplate, steady-rest, follow-rest, with a 5/8" Jacobs chuck and a live center for the tailstock. It will swing 12.5" with the gap in place and 17" with the gap removed. It can do 40 different inch-threads (4 to 112 tpi) and 29 metric threads (.24 to 4.5 mm). It is powered by a 1.5 HP 110/220 single phase motor. It was new in 1996, and was used to machine most of the parts which went into the prototype EPI Mark 9 PSRU (which has accumulated over 800 hours of flight time in two different Lancair-4P's powered by a turbocharged 440 HP V8). It is in very good condition (We just finished a run of PSRU propshafts with this machine. These shafts have a total tolerance of 0.0005 on the bearing journals).

In order to make space for our new lathe, this one can be bought now for $1500. If there is any interest out there, I can be reached at jack@epi-eng.com.

Thanks for your time.
