To LNC2 builders. I've turned my fuselage upright for the last time and
it now sits on the landing gear. I had built a steel cradle, or
framework to hold the fuselage during the various steps in the early
assembly. It holds the up-side-down fuselage with a beam across the
longerons and another higher beam across the fuselage bulkhead at the
stabilizer. For upright work there are two cradles that bolt to the
frame to support the fuselage at the firewall and the aft fuselage. The
frame has casters, so the airplane can be moved around the shop easily,
and screw jacks so it can be leveled - laterally and longitudinally.
This has been very helpful in my work to date, but it has now outlived
its usefulness.
Does anyone out there have a use for this frame in their work? If
not, I'll cut it up and return the steel to the parts bin in my son's
machine shop.
