Subject: ES engine mount and strut locations.
I could use some help from a fellow ES builder out there.
I deleted the engine mount from my kit purchase because I
Planed on using an alternate engine on my plane, I'm going
To install a Mazda 20b three rotor turbo. My original plan
Was to build the entire engine mount from scratch, but later
Decided this was a bad idea and purchases an engine mount
From an IVP builder for about half price.
My initial measurements indicate that I may be able to use
The IV mount unaltered, except for the strut location.
My problem is that the strut location is different on the ES vs. the
IV and I need to determine weather the strut is located further
Forward on the IV mount or if the drag link mounts are further back
On the IV mount. If I mount everything as is, my ES drag link is about
One and a half inches to short. The measurements I need are as
Follows.
Firewall to engine mount drag link hole center. Mine is 4"
Drag link hole center to strut mount hole center {the one that not used}
Mine measures 15 7/8".
Firewall to same unused strut center hole. Mine measures 19 1/2"
I would appreciate anyone's help so I can determine my best
Course of action.
