Don't have any info on the static problem, but if you want to get an exact match for the 2001 Meredes paint just go down to the local auto paint store and they can mix if for you. This is where the body shop at the Mercedes dealership gets their paint when they have to do a repair. The auto dealerships or manufacturers are not in the paint business. Jim Farrell
