I have replaced my Goodyear flight custom II's once on each of the mains
since I began flying the airplane 350+ landings and 560hrs ago and still
have the original Goodyear nose tire in service with negligeable wear. The
mains when replaced were not bald, but the grooves in the tread were wearing
thin. I noticed at a Lancair labor day fly in several yrs. ago many of the
iv-p's there had very worn tires with only 60 hrs or so on McCreary's.  I
had the same type of Goodyear tires on a Bonanza that I owned before the
Lancair and they wore very well.  Wheel well clearance may not be adequate
of you switch to a different tire.  John Wright iv-p Colorado Springs
