Last year, right after I landed, I was directed down a short grass taxiway
parallel to the runway. I objected, but there did not seem to be any
alternative, many others had gone that way, and the flag man wanted me to
move along. Luckily I made it over the grass, back onto the concrete and to the Lancair
parking area, where I shut down and helpers were there to move the plane on
the grass to a parking space.
A couple of days later a Lancair taxiing in the grass destroyed his
propeller when his nose wheel went over a soft spot. This was after they
had had some more rain.
