Lorn,

Thanks for the information. Do you make it a practice to replace the tubes
at each tire change?

Yes. I also buy and use Lancair's Anti Tube Pincher Poly Sleeve (Item # 4785). You can find them at: http://www.aerocraftparts.com/Categories.aspx?Category=5481a5de-4c30-4fbe-a799-aa0266bb7e6a

Is it your opinion at this time that the Desser tires will last longer than
the Cheng Shin tires?

Yes. I still think that you have an alignment or braking problem if you are only getting 80 hours on any type of tire. I fly at up to 1,900 lbs and don't go through tires as fast as you.

Randy,

I put Desser (Aero Classic) tires on my plane about 120 hours ago, last May.
They still look like new. These newer tires only have 2 wide groves and not
3 or 5 thin groves like the older tires.

With the Cheng Shin tires, I never had a flat when the tires looked bald. I
always got at least 150 hours out of these tires. I did have flats within
the first 10 hours of flight because of faulty installation. Never fly these
tires below 40 lbs of pressure. I am using nitrogen to fill the tires at
this time just because it was handy. I have them filled to 50 lbs. The tires
haven't had to be refilled within the last 6 months.

I am not prepared to file a formal evaluation of the Dessser tires at this
time. I am waiting to wear out these tires and then compare them to the
older version (Cheng Shin). However, so far, they are looking pretty good.

Below I have listed contact information for Desser. You can also find the
tires at Aircraft Spruce (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/) under part #
06-01240. I believe? I just ordered directly from Desser in order to make
sure that I was getting the correct tire.

I have just completed my Annual Condition Inspection on my 360 and am
surprised that I need new tires.  I have logged only 80 hours on my most
recent set of tires (mains) and have very little tread left on both right
and left sides.  I will now purchase another set of tires  but I am not sure
if I should get another set of the Cheng Shin tires (around $18 each) or if
I should throw more dollars at some better tires, if any are available.
What I am curious about is what options I might have and what any of the
other 300 series owners have for tire-wear experience.  The tires are
11x4-5's and I haven't seen that exact size with the other tire
manufacturers so maybe I don't understand the numbering scheme.  Any help or
experience would be great.
