There is a seat foam designed to reduce injuries. It is called
Temperfoam or Solimide. Aviation Safety did a series on it 2 or 3 years
ago. It is used in jet fighter seats and eliminated coccygeal fractures
in ejections. It is also fireproof. Unfortunately, I do not have the
source for it in my references.
