RG batteries are a different technology from the gell cell batteries that
are used in alarm systems. RG batteries utilize a fiberglass mat that is
injected with electrolyte. They can be operated in any position and will
not leak. You could drive a nail through the battery and not get
appreciable amounts of electrolyte to spill out. You can't do that to a gel
cell. As far as I know, RG batteries are available from two sources: Concorde
Battery and B&C Specialty Products.
