Also at Sun 'n Fun, Jim Scales (nice ES!) passed along info on the ES
airbox originally designed by Jeff Stanford for Bill Rogers' ES.  The molds
have been tweaked a little for better fit, and the air box is now made of
carbon fiber.  For those not familiar with the design, it sits comfortably
between the air intake and the circular baffle behind the prop, sort of
flares out to each side and has a large Brackett air filter on each side,
each one angled at about 45 degrees.  I used it on my first ES and was quite
pleased; I had good M.P. up to at least 12,000ft.   Although there is no
alternate air with this setup, if you get both of these large filters iced
up, alternate air isn't going to help you -- you need a parachute.

The air box is now available from:

Discussions are apparently underway about offering it through Kit
Components, but for now it's available direct for $325, which includes the
filters and mounting hardware.
