Having just found the lancair list after 5 years of building this has probably already been discussed, but here goes.  I am currently looking for depleted uranium to use in all of my counterweights.  I have a poss. line on some A10 30MM cannon shells as a source. I have been given many figures(1.7-2.2) for the relative density to lead, but have yet to find any hard data.  But even at the low end the weight savings would be at least 15lbs.  These surfaces are already completed but I am currently on a rigorus weight savings program.  If any of you have any information on the availability, phisical properties, or wokability of this material to form it to the shapes I need, I would certainly appreciate it.  Thanks,
Steve
