I did, on the
recommedation of Doug Wheeldreyer who was the Lancair 320/360 tech rep at the
time. The main reason being that there is the greater degree of flexibility in
regards to CG placement. Other benefits include not having to cut a hole in the
firewall for the "dogbowl" relief needed if your'e using a constant speed prop
and depending on engine model you can use a direct spin on oil filter with the
engine forward. It leaves a bit more room behind the engine to work or mount
components as well.
