Byron, do uo leave the dump valve open whilst the aircraft is parked?
Also do you open in prior to switching off the master or after or does this make no difference?
Can you explain the technicalities of this practise?

I've been flying my Lancair 360 for 8 yrs from Ryan field, Tucson, where a temperature change of 30+* F a day is common. I routinely open the "dump" valve on shut down. Works fine, --- the pump runs every time when switched to the "up" position. Also prevents holding high hydraulic system pressure when the plane is not in use. As an aside, I'm still using the original "dump" valve as furnished by Lancair back in 1995 with no leaks (there was some discussion years back when some contended that the Lancair valve was not suitable).
