Answer: for years and years and hundreds and hundreds of hours at a
time, without adjustment. I have not adjusted mine in the last 600
hours or so.
I think you seriously misjudge the difficulty with the one and
underestimate the problems and complexity associated with the other.

These are mechanical systems that rely on a series of inter-dependent
adjustments to stay in calibration. TCM has a 38 page service bulletin
