Marv:
I hate to keep bothering you with my little problems, but I know you've
already gone through the steps I'm taking now.
You put the elevator trim tab servomotor in your elevator, but you
never mentioned what you did with all the wires. How did you route them
out of the elevator? Did you use one or more connectors? If so, where
did you find a small 5-wire connector? I'm about to close my elevators,
but have this matter to resolve. I'm trying to chose between wire
splices vs. connectors, keeping connectors out of the elevator, or at
least forward of the hinge line, ete., etc.. I'd appreciate any
information you can offer. Charles Keller
p.s. Put this in the LML if you wish.
[I answered this privately but thought I'd share it with the group. I
didn't do anything yet with the wires from the servomotor but have
considered the problem and will be using Molex connectors inside the access
bay for the servomotor... they are very popular, high quality, and used
routinely for this type of application on many homebuilts. As for how
they're being routed into the elevator I thought I would echo the question
and ask what approach various other builders have taken, and especially ask
Bryant Cervens how he's tackled the problem on the many LIV's and IVP's
he's wired up.
