Angier asks about "screwless" cowling; I have done it both ways and have a
definite opinion. The screw type is much easier and quicker, and the
screwless is far better looking , fits better, and is way, way, way more
labor intensive, and harder to get perfect. When my plane was down for
engine work and I had time on my hands, I made the change to piano hinges.
The center split came out quite well, but I had alignment problems with
the firewall part, so eventually went back to screws there.  Another advantage
to the piano hinge is that screw holes eventually wear.  Fred  N9BF(Don't fly like my brother)
