The screw type is much easier and quicker, and the screwless is far better looking , fits better, and is way, way, way more labor intensive, and harder to get perfect. When my plane was down for engine work and I had time on my hands, I made the change to piano hinges. The center split came out quite well, but I had alignment problems with the firewall part, so eventually went back to screws there. Another advantage to the piano hinge is that screw holes eventually wear.
