I use two 40 cu ft carbon fiiber cylinders, and was going to mount them in a permanent location.  Since I do a lot of flying, though, I found it much more to my liking to strap them into the back seat.  They only weigh 12 lbs each, and it is very easy to pull them out after my trips.

Wherever you put them permanently, make sure your access is reasonable.  It is a real pain to climb over stuff to pull them out, especially the large heavy ones.
