mcmaster carr sells t's and crosses for hydraulic systems in all metals
(best choice and easy).

Manifolds are inherently weak due to the fact that you come into the side
and introduce bending as the side hole gets close to the size of cylinder.
if you run 1/4"npt and use 6064-t6 with your 1" tube you should be fine.

[Thanks for the tip about McMaster Carr, I need to get a fresh catalog from them.  This will be all 1/8NPT, so I'm pretty sure I won't compromise the wall strength... another subscriber suggested clamping the barstock tightly
in a milling vise while tapping, sounds like a great idea to me.      <Marv>   ]
