Subject: [FlyRotary] Cutting down the water pump
Hello All...
I have taken a spare water pump housing I had and
hacked off the top neck( as you can see in the
attached photo )...
Does anyone know what type of aluminum the housing is
made out of?
I hope to have a plate welded over the top of both
openings. Sealing the thermostat recirc shaft and
having a neck welded on the other opening. The hope
is to save 2" or so by doing this route. I am hoping
someone else has gone this route and can give a few
pointers, like will this work? What aluminum alloy
did you use for the plate? For the pipe neck?
Any help is appreciated...
Thanx...
-Scott
