That vent is my only vent from the system.  It goes to a small surge can with a 16 psi cap which vent to 2 larger pressurized cans on the firewall.

Don't like the sound of that Dave.  I think you should have one from the high point back at the water pump as well.  I have the one at the flywheel end connected to the high point on my water pump, then overflow port on filler cap goes to bottle. (non pressurized bottle).

This may have already been suggested, but where did you run the block vent from the top of flywheel end of engine?  Should be connected to high point of cooling system.

Thanks Todd,

That is very nice of you.  I too have a spare water pump (from the engine your fuel rails were on).  However, I am fairly sure that it is not the pump, as everything seems to be in excellent working order.  Tracy is right, there is something big that I a missing.  But it dosent seem to be the pump.

Hi Dave;

    I just remembered that I still have my waterpump, which I have no intention of using, so you can have it if you like. It's from an '86 NA and has an aluminium pump housing. The pump housing had a small break (from car accident) up at the thermostat fitting that was re-welded and looks perfectly good to me. I would not hesitate to use it if I was not using the EWP.

    Let me know if you want it.
